2010 Spring Update
Invitation from Managing Partner Ray Goff
It’s hard to believe that seven years have passed since we first opened our tasting room doors and began selling our wines from the North 13th Avenue tasting room in Walla Walla. I want to personally thank each of you for your support of our wines. You have been instrumental in helping Amavi Cellars not only survive in these tough times… but also become a nationally recognized label in a very, very short time!
I also want to thank you for sharing my family’s passion for the “old log cabin” tasting room interior that came from my ranch in north-central Montana. We have enjoyed “bellying up to the bar” for more than a few glasses of wine with you over the years. But now it’s time for us to upgrade your wine experience by providing you a new tasting room closer to the estate vineyards that are the heart and soul of the Amavi Cellars wines you have so steadfastly supported.
You have seen the plans for the new tasting room… and now, beginning with the April 30 – May 1 “Release Weekend”, please come visit us located at 3796 Peppers Bridge Road, a few miles south of Walla Walla. Expect what you have received from us in the past: world-class wines and genuine hospitality from my family, the McKibbens, Patty, Jean-François... well, the entire team. The only difference is that now you can enjoy our new releases while enjoying spectacular views of the valley and the mountains.
Please come join us! I look forward to seeing you.
Thank you, thank you, thank you,
Spring Release Offerings
Another reason to visit us soon... come taste the 2009 Rose and 2009 Sémillon, which will be released April 30. We also will have on hand a thrilling new wine for club members, our inaugural Ceres. The Ceres wine will vary year to year based on Jean-François' choice. This year the Ceres is half Syrah and half Cabernet Sauvignon and fully delicious! Along with a new club wine we have some exciting changes for club members so be sure to read about them in your club newsletter coming soon!
Woodinville Tasting Room Opening Soon
Yes, the word on the street is true. We are opening another tasting room in Woodinville, just outside of Seattle, next to Bookwalter, Mark Ryan, and Ross Andrew. We are tentatively scheduled to open June 1. Located at 4810 NE 145th St. Suite A-3, we are going to be part of a wonderful group of wineries in a very hip neighborhood. We are making plans for an open house, so please keep your eyes on our website or Facebook for the dates. We'd love for you to join us for the opening celebration.
Simple concept, big deal: Bottling truckThis year we are proud to show off our newest addition to the team, the bottling truck! This truck allows us to have even more control over our winemaking process. We can bottle the moment Jean-François is ready to pull wines from the barrel, instead of having to wait for the “hired” bottling truck which could sometimes be anywhere from weeks to months.
The truck was custom built by Marty Lynch, yep -- that’s Patty’s hubby-- for Amavi and Pepper Bridge. Marty manages and operates the truck, bringing an attention to detail and a great sense of humor!
