"A remarkable deal from one of Washington's outperforming labels... Top 100 Wine... Top Wine Under $30." —San Francisco Chronicle

"Top 100 Winery.... More complex than wines five times its price."  —Wine & Spirits magazine

"Clearly one of Walla Walla's value superstars." —Paul Gregutt (paulgregutt.com, Seattle Times and Wine Enthusiast)

“One of the most compelling wines made in America.” —Jefferson Cup Invitational

Located in the Walla Walla Valley, Amavi Cellars crafts elegant, approachable wines, focusing on estate-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.  We also make small amounts of Sémillon, Rosé, and dessert wines that are typically available only in the tasting room.

We are proud to be small and family owned. Two generations are active in management of the winery and the vineyards. Winemaker Jean-François Pellet is a third-generation winemaker and grape grower.

Quality, value, hospitality and sustainability are our underlying values.  We would love for you to visit us in our tasting room.  Critics often say our wines have a phenomenally good quality-to price-ratio.  Our estate vineyards—Les Collines, Seven Hills, and Pepper Bridge— are farmed sustainably.  We build up the soil's health rather than deplete it and seek out earth-friendly alternatives to fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides.  We are committed to not only preserving, but also improving the land for future generations.

Our tasting room is unique and inviting.  The interior is a meticulous reconstruction of an 1890s log cabin skillfully built with twice-recycled, hand-hewn lumber.  The exterior resembles a Walla Walla storefront at the turn of the 20th Century.    It serves as another example of our devotion to sustainability.  Our tasting room manager Patty Lynch would be happy to share with you samples of our current releases.  (Tasting fees may apply.)    NOTE:  We are are building a new tasting room in the vineyards!  Once again, we are salvaging the timbers to use in the new construction.  Anticipated opening date:  5/2010.

Our name is a combination of the Latin root words "am" (love) and "vi" (life). It represents our simple pursuits: love, life and wine (or as we like to say: amor - vita - vinum). We pronounce it "ahh muh vee." You can be certain you are saying it the way we do if it rhymes with "momma me."
